HAMAD Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) and Al Qamra Holding Group signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), aimed at building strategic ties and growing collaborative capabilities in the areas of education, technology, innovation and research.
The MoU promotes cooperation between the leading Qatari business conglomerate and the multidisciplinary research university, fostering close collaboration between academia and industry that is driven by an entrepreneurial spirit and innovating thinking.
The agreement was signed by HBKU President, Dr Ahmad M Hasnah, and the Chairman of the Al Qamra Holding Group, Hamad Saleh al Qamra, at the HBKU Student Center, in the presence of members of the Board of Directors of the Al Qamra Holding Group, and senior management from HBKU.
HBKU and Al Qamra Holding Group will develop joint research projects, staying true to both organisations' commitment to promoting a spirit of discovery and innovation in the Qatari community. Bridging the gaps between academics and industry practitioners, HBKU will provide advisory services to the diverse portfolio of Al Qamra Holding Group's ventures. With expertise across numerous industries such as education, technology healthcare and beyond, Al Qamra Holding Group will work closely with HBKU students to develop academic, professional and research opportunities at the University.
The MoU will expand the professional prospects for students graduating from the University, offering opportunities for engagement between academics and researchers at HBKU and professionals from the myriad of Al Qamra's business operations and entrepreneurial ventures.

Chairman of Al Qamra Holding Company, Hamad Saleh al Qamra, noted:"The education sector is one of the main sectors we have in our company. We are looking for a close cooperation with Hamad Bin Khalifa University to play an active role towards the implementation of Qatar's National Strategic Vision 2030."
