HE Sheikh Thani bin Hamad al Thani recently handed over Aisha Bint Hamad Bin Abdullah Al Attiyah School for Orphans in Ad-Damir city, 'Rofaka' (companions) city to Hatim al Waseela al Samani, governor of Nile River State.
The city is located 287 kilometres north of Khartoum, the capital of Sudan.
The ceremony was graced by Major-General Abd al Rahman Sadiq al Mahdi, assistant to the President of Sudan, a number of federal ministers and ministers of the Nile River state. It was also attended by Sheikh Hamad bin Nasser al Thani, chairman of the Board of Directors of Qatar Charity, and Faisal bin Abdullah al Mahmoud, member of the Board of Directors, as well as a group of administrators at the head office in Doha and Khartoum branch.
Two hundred families who benefited from the project received the keys of their homes.
HE Sheikh Thani also opened Abf1'fbBakraf0u7779?-u7778?iddf1'eeq Mosque, which can accommodate 800 worshipers and toured the city, visiting the exhibition which covered all stages of the cityf0's implementation. He also received an honorary doctorate awarded by the Nile Valley University on behalf of the Father Emir HH Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al Thani.
The governor of Nile River State thanked the government and people of Qatar for their support for their brothers in Sudan and welcomed, on behalf of the Sudanese leadership, their guest HE Sheikh Thani bin Hamad al Thani and the accompanying delegation.
