TWO unlicenced shops were shut down in Al Wukair and Al Mashaf areas after food items were found in secret and unhygienic conditions.
Another unlicensed food items store was closed down on Sheikh Abdul Rahman Bin Jassim Street.
The joint inspection was carried out by Municipal Control Department of Al Wakrah Municipality and Commercial Licenses Section at the Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC).
As per Law No 8 of 1990 on Regulation of Human Food, cases of violation were recorded against the erring shops in Al Wukair and Al Mashaf areas and all seized food items weighing 250kg were destroyed.
Al Wakrah Municipality, represented by the Health Control Section, said it would take the necessary legal measures against any offender who does not comply with the requirements of the law.
Also, the Pest and Rodent Control Section of General Cleanness Department at Al Khor and Dhakira Municipality provided a service for controlling flying and crawling insects during the Qatar Scout Camp organised by Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRC) in Al Khor City. The service was also provided in Ras Lafan. (TNN)
