THE Ministry of Education and Higher Education has said that the 2016-17 final examination will be held as per schedule and in accordance with the annual calendar of independent schools released by the ministry.
Speaking to QNA, a senior source at the ministry said there is no intention to change the dates of the final examinations scheduled to take place before the Holy Month of Ramadan, noting that the examination schedule is prepared in line with the calendar and, hence, there is no need or reason to change the schedule.
The remarks came in the wake of rumours of a possible change in the examination schedule. The source urged students to continue to work hard in order to achieve the best results in the second term exams.
According to the annual academic calendar of independent schools, final examinations are set to start on May 25 and end on June 10 for the final year students of secondary schools, while the exams for Grade 10 and 11 will start on May 28 and end on June 13.
The examination for Grade 4 to 9 and Grade 1 to 3 will be held from June 4 to 11, and May 18 to 25, respectively, as per the schedule.
The second stage examinations are scheduled to start for all grades on July 23 and end on August 1.
