The seventh edition of Qatar Motor Show (QMS) concluded after five days packed with engagement and innovation, thrilling motor fans across Qatar and the region.
The show attracted thousands of visitors from Qatar and GCC countries.
An official at Qatar Convenient and Conference Centre told Qatar Tribune that the show was very successful and the number of visitors exceeded their expectations of the organisers.
"Even on the last day of the show Saturday, we are receiving thousands of visitors," he said.
Dina al Tawil, a visitor to the show said she is a regular to the show for the last three years. She said the show has been getting better year after year.
"The organisers of the show keep adding new features every year. And this year, they created a new section for classic cars featuring fantastic vintage and unique cars, which is a great idea," she noted.
Another visitor, Irafan Satya, said,"I have never seen such a show with new models of cars from all brands."
"I have visited motor shows in some countries including the UAE and Singapore. But for me, this show is the best in all aspects such as number of new models, activities and the organisation," he pointed out.
Driven by Qatar Tourism Authority's (QTA) strategy to increase visitors to Qatar by 20 percent in the next five years, QMS has helped shine a spotlight on the world-class venues, facilities, event management services, and attractions that make Qatar a premium destination for business events, a press release said on Saturday.
With 27 exhibitors and 15 partners, the 2017 edition of the Qatar Motor Show was a testament to the success that stems from partnerships with the private sector, a statement by QMS said.
"We are proud to complete another successful edition of the Qatar Motor Show," said Ahmed al Obaidli, Director of Exhibitions at QTA.
"I would like to thank all our partners for their support in enriching this edition's offerings and look forward to joining hands with them again in the upcoming years. We will continue to develop home-grown exhibitions that attract international visitors, and that cultivate home-grown talent capable of hosting large-scale events," he added.
True to its theme, 'Driving to Innovation', the 2017 edition reflected the show's strategy to highlight the technological advancements shaping the industry today, the QMA said.
The theme complemented the evolution of the show itself which transformed from its traditional format adopting a new, innovation-filled face.
Visitors were introduced to the latest trends, hybrid cars, concept cars and super cars unveiled for the first time in the region since their initial European launch.
Parades, interactive fan zones and competitions complemented the offerings and gave guests a peek into the world of the automotive industry, QMA said.
"The 2017 edition has concluded but it also marked the start of the 'Driving to Innovation' theme that will go on for the next three years," said Ahmed al Mulla, Chief Operating Officer of Entertainment at Elan Group.
"This successful first year has paved the way for Qatar Motor Show to become a platform and a hub for the latest technological advancements and cement its position as the preferred platform for exclusive reveals and launches," he said.
