The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) has approved three new models for building temporary houses for workers. The move comes as part of the ministry's efforts to help the developers save time, effort and cost.
Tariq Juma al Tamimi, Director of Building Licensing Complex, said coordination has been made with the General Directorate of Civil Defence at the Ministry of Interior (MoI) to get its approval of these models so that building permits can be issued directly from the competent municipality without any delay.
It has been also taken into account that the new models should meet the requirements of all other concerned service entities.
The models should also meet the requirements of the space for each worker and the services should be provided as per the Qatari labour Law. As per the approved design, as many as 214 workers can be accommodated in each model. Developers can use the models and only provide consultation services and the site plan for the General Directorate of Civil Defence.
The Building Licensing Complex has uploaded the models and procedures required to obtain a building permit on the website of the MME.
