THOUSANDS of Filipino expatriates in Qatar are expected to be present at a community meeting which would be graced by Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte during his official visit to Qatar, slated from April 14 to 16.
The community meeting will be held at Lusail Sports Arena (Lusail Multipurpose Hall) on April 15, according to an official announcement from the Philippine Embassy Doha on Sunday.
The circular mentioned that a registration will be required for those who are intending to attend the event as part of the security procedures.
The venue can accommodate 6,000 persons.
Earlier this month, the United Filipino Organizations in Qatar (UFOQ), the community's umbrella group, had already started its registration for volunteers for the event.
At least 200 volunteers will be selected to be part of the crowd control team during the community meeting. A registration process was also initiated by UFOQ for the attendees of the meeting upon advice from the Embassy.
