The 34th meeting of Arab Interior Ministers' Council has recommended more cooperation and coordination among Arab countries in the fight against terrorism.
The ministers have also called for holding an annual week to spread awareness against threats from extremism. The week is to be held between January 4 and 10 every year.
In its final communiqu`, the council urged intensification of awareness programmes on the dangers of extremism and terrorism in the Arab world.
The council also endorsed bestowing Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia with Prince Naif Medal for Arab Security for his pioneering role in supporting Arab and Islamic causes, as well as his efforts in preserving world peace and security.
The council also appreciated the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' stances supporting the Palestinian cause, his support of the legitimacy in Yemen and his initiative to establish Islamic Coalition to combat terrorism as well as establishment of King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Works.
