The Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) has inaugurated an exhibition titled 'Space Light, Space Color Exhibition,' in the presence of Katara General Manager Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim al Sulaiti and other dignitaries, including heads of various diplomatic missions in Doha.
The exhibition by the Iraqi artist Zuhair Shaaouni consists of 30 pieces of modern art, specifically computer-generated arts, which have gained a huge number of fans.
The artist is a member of Iraqi Photography Association, Arab Photographers Union and Iraqi Journalists' syndicate and has been living in Florida, USA since 1977.
Shaaouni is a graduate in fine arts, which had initially led him take up a job as a digital art teacher.
He said,"I am a digital artist in the US and I have held many successful art exhibitions. For sure, digital art has many artistic streams, approaches and cultural ideologies, which emerge from time to time."
He added,"My paintings are characterised by their infinite abstract world where I can run nonstop to recognise and become familiar with faces of whom I encountered in my artistic career path.
"Thus, my audience are free to see and analyse my paintings from their own perspective. For this reason, I do not give titles, indications or hints to my paintings in order to enable my audience to freely live with the painting based on the content that perfectly suits their own vision."
The exhibition will run until April 14 from 10am to 10pm at Katara building 22, Gallery 2.
