Al Sadd will take on rivals Al Rayyan in a crunch Qatar Clasico match, which could have serious implications on the destination of the QSL Falcon Shield at the end of the season. Here is a look of the key statistics about both teams ahead of the Sunday evening tie at Al Sadd Stadium.
With passing an integral part of the game, Al Rayyan lead the way averaging a total of 471 passes per game this season, just ahead of Al Sadd's 418 overall passing.
Al Sadd however edged out Al Rayyan in terms of successful passes with 86.9 percent finding their target compared to Rayyan's 86.7 percent.
Al Sadd have been a real attacking force this season and this is reflected in the Jesaldo Ferriera's side statistics which is better than their clasico opponents in terms of goals per game (2.9) dribbles (13.2) and crosses (20.8). Al Rayyan, on the other hand, edged out Al Sadd in the defensive stakes, registering more tackles (21.5) blocks (19.1) and interceptions (99.9).
With thin margins between both sides, Sunday's Qatar Clasico promises to be a match to savour especially with Al Sadd looking for a win to maintain their title push.
