Bangladesh MHM School & College observed the 97th Birth Anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Children's Day of Bangladesh. The school arranged elaborate programmes which included a special assembly, prayer, a discussion on the life of Rahman, drawing and essay competitions, and a friendly football match.
Bangladesh Ambassador to Qatar HE Ashud Ahmed attended the programme as did some embassy officials.
The observance started with a special assembly at 7:30 am. Principal Jashim Uddin highlighted the great contributions of the Father of the Nation in building Bangladesh and encouraged the students to prepare themselves to realise the dreams of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Ahmed advised the students to acquaint themselves with the life of the Father of the Nation and try to imitate his three unique qualities courage, clarity, charisma to make Bangladesh prosperous.
Ahmed's speech was followed by a prayer. The most attractive part of the programme were the friendly football matches among four houses of the school wherein Korotoa House was the champion.
The school also organised drawing and essay writing competitions. The participants drew portraits of he Father of the Nation and scenes from the history and traditions of Bangladesh. In the essay competition students wrote about the childhood and achievements of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The programme concluded with a prize-distribution ceremony which included GPA-5 achievers in the public.
