Doha English Speaking School DESS held a 'Celebration Assembly' to recognise some amazing results its pupils have recently achieved.
The DESS Voice Squad (choir) attended Qatar Primary School Choir of the Year Competition (2017) and have made it through to the final which will take place in May. The Voice Squad has been particularly active this academic year performing at 'Choirfest Middle East', becoming the first international choir to do so, and other national events including a beautiful performance at The British Embassy in December 2016 and the DESS Winter Fair, an event which attracts 1,500 visitors annually.
The DESS BSME (British Schools in the Middle East) 2017 squad also celebrated its success at the assembly for coming third overall in their recent Under - 11 Games which took place in Dubai. DESS competed against 12 other schools in events such as athletics, netball, basketball, swimming and football (girls and boys).
Of the recent successes, Headteacher Sibley said:"I am extremely proud of the pupils who have contributed towards the success of the DESS Voice Squad and the BSME Games team and we were delighted to share in this success with all the pupils and staff from Doha English Speaking School together with their parents. The children have achieved some magnificent results through sheer determination and team work and are role models to the entire school community."
