Under the umbrella of Qatar Foundation's Pre-University Education (PUE), Qatar Leadership Academy's Mathematics Department celebrated its sixth annual Pi Day recently. Teachers and students wore Pi Day t-shirts to celebrate the occasion.
The day started with teachers and student forming the Pi. The venue was also decorated with various information about Pi, one of which was a display of more than 500 digits of Pi at the venue's entrance.
Icebreaker activities took place, after the arrival of guests, which were participated by QLA and non-QF schools. Math Jeopardy competitions took place after the welcoming ceremony which ran parallel to Visual Arts competitions. Apple pies were served to students, academics and guests.
The activities designed for Pi Day were meant to create curiosity among students about the Pi and Mathematics. QLA hopes to continue the celebration with greater involvement from other schools within Qatar.
