Qatar Chamber Vice-Chairman Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Towar al Kuwari has urged Japanese firms to bring in their technical expertise to Qatar and be part of the country's growth story.
Speaking at a seminar organised by Japanese firm Kitz Corporation in cooperation with its local partner, Al Fuad Oilfield and Industrial Equipment Supply Company, Towar said Japanese firms have been in the country for a long time and have a proven track record in the country.
He said the two countries have had a long history of business partnership and he is confident this partnership will grow further in the years to come.
The KITZ Group manufactures and sells valves, fittings, water purifiers, and industrial filters, all of which are devices used for the control of fluids. Valve manufacturing accounts for 79.8 percent of total sales.
According to Towar, a number of Japanese firms are already engaged in several businesses in the country and more companies from Japan are expected to invest in the country.
"Japanese firms have been known globally for their technical advancements and if more firms come here, it will help the local entrepreneurs, and assist the country move towards its goal of becoming a knowledge-based economy."
Japan's Chubu Electric Power was the first consumer of Qatargas, marking Qatar's foray into the global LNG market.
Highlighting the importance of the seminar, the Qatar Chamber vice-chairman said such forums open the horizon for discussion on a new set of environmental-friendly products and solutions.
"Seminars like this provide a platform for professionals to discuss issues related to energy conservation and the introduction of new innovations that allow professionals to obtain green and environmental-friendly solutions in comprehensive air conditioning and heating systems," Towar added.
