Retaj Group is planning to invest in Indonesia's hotel and hospitality sectors.
The plan was discussed during a meeting between officials of Retaj Group and Indonesian parliamentary delegation, said a press release on Thursday.
Dr Agus Hermanto, Indonesian Deputy Speaker of the House of Representative and its members met Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Retaj Group Dr Mohammed bin Johar Said al Mohammed and its management in Doha on Thursday.
"Retaj Hotels and Hospitality is a Qatari real estate and hospitality company with a total of 10 hotels operating in Qatar, Turkey, the Comoros, and Saudi Arabia," Mohammed said.
Retaj Hotels was established in Doha in 2004 and focuses on real estate development and project management, real estate services, and the hospitality business, he said.
Retaj operates according to Islamic principles and has banned alcohol and smoking at its hotels and the company refers its hotels as"Islamic hotels," he noted.
Welcoming Retaj's investment plans in Indonesia, Dr Agus said the potential economy of Indonesia is encouraging as the country is currently the 16th largest economy in the world.
"Indonesia with a market of 250 million middle class people is getting stronger. The country is a member of ASEAN Free Trade Area and the ASEAN Economic Community since 2015," he added.
Dr Agus said Indonesia has made progress in its bureaucracy and structural reforms agenda aimed at raising economic growth.
"It has adequate legal instruments that support the development of foreign investment."
Indonesian Envoy to Qatar, HE Muhammad Basri Sidehabi appreciated Retaj Group's plan to invest in Indonesia.
He said that according to the prediction of Global Consultancy, McKinsey, business opportunity in Indonesia would increase to $1.8 trillion by 2030."Indonesia can be strategic partner of Qatar helping to promote Qatar's ambition to be a truly world-class player."
"Indonesia offers vast economic opportunity for Qatar as a prosperous nation with a abundant financial resources," he added.

Meeting with Ooredoo CEO
Earlier, Dr Agus met Ooredoo International Group (OIG) CEO, Waleed Muhammad al A Sayeed in Doha.
The meeting was accompanied by Indonesian Ambassador to Qatar, HE Muhammad Basri Sidehabi and Indonesian Embassy's Minister Counselor, Boy Dharmawan.
Dr Agus said,"OIG has special place in the hearts of Indonesian people because of the company's active role in the development of our country, especially in the advancement of digital telecommunications industry."
"We are also proud that the company has been awarded as one of the most innovative company in the Middle East and Africa regions in expanding its business and serving hundreds of millions of customers across the globe," he said.
Indosat Ooredoo, which is now a part of Ooredoo International Group, has become one of the leading digital telecommunications company in Indonesia, Dr Agus said. The company, with 4,000 workers, has been consistently increasing its productivity with more than 80 million customers in Indonesia. Indosat Ooredoo has also been awarded as the most innovative companies in Asia recently, he noted.
