Judging by the surge in demand for tickets for the 10th FIG Artistic Individual Apparatus World Cup, the event is likely to be one of the most attended in recent years, the Qatar Gymnastics Federation (QGF) President Ali Ahmed al Hitmi has said.
"The demand for tickets is high which is an indication that the sport is well loved in Qatar and it has a huge fan following. The marketing committee has done a tremendous job and their effort is well appreciated," Hitmi said.
The event will be held from March 22 to 25 at the Aspire Dome in Doha.
The tickets which can either be purchased onsite at the venue in Aspire Zone or the federation's office at Al Bidda Tower are of three types General Seats B (QR30), General Seats A (QR50) and VIP section (QR100).
It can also be purchased online at www.q-tickets.com.
The QGF president added that the organisers have decided to allocate special places for families as well as people with special needs in order to enhance maximum and more comfortable enjoyment of the event.
"We are in the final leg of our preparations for the event and it has been so far so good. All the sub-committees have put in their best to ensure that their department is not found wanting in any area and I am generally impressed with what all of them have done," Hitmi added.
Meanwhile Ali Abdullah al Buainain, the competition director, said the organisers have engaged the services of volunteers to complement the works of the various sub-committees in order to ensure a very successful tournament.
"The Qatar Voluntary Center is supporting us with volunteers alongside some clubs and cultural organisations. This competition is for the honour and glory of Qatar and we are not leaving any stone unturned in order to make it a grand success," Buainain added.
There will be contests in10 apparatus at the $50,000 total prize money event with six for men and four for women.
