THE National Human Rights Committee (NHRC), in cooperation with Qatar University, has delivered a series of lectures for students of the Psychological Sciences Department in the College of Education under the title 'Peaceful Coexistence for Human Rights' on the occasion of the Arab Human Rights Day.
The lectures provided a definition of human rights and the mechanisms for protection and promotion of these rights. It also shed light on the role of NHRC, in this regard.
The lectures gave an explanation of peaceful coexistence and its close relationship with human rights within countries and communities, giving some real life examples, thereof, and highlighting the pioneering and unique role of the State of Qatar's in this area.
The Arab Human Rights Day is celebrated on March 16 every year to mark the day when the Arab Charter on Human Rights came into force in 2008.
