THE 33rd GCC Traffic Week witnessed a significant participation of Qatar's schools at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education pavilion at Darb Al Saai.
The ministry's pavilion featuring 20 participating schools of all educational levels also received a large number of visitors.
Othman al Meshhadani, the primary schools traffic safety coordinating guide, said that 20 schools were selected based on the evaluation of their achievements in the traffic safety area.
Mahmoud Chaaban, social sciences teacher and traffic safety coordinator at Al Emam Al Shafei Preparatory School said that the school works around the year on raising awareness of traffic rules and safety. He confirmed that their participation was fruitful given the wide interest of visitors in the ministry's pavilion.
Al Bayan School teacher Hissa al Shemmari said that the school started an awareness campaign on social media under the hashtag 'my life is more important than my snapchat' to warn against the use of mobile phones while driving. Nasser bin Abdullah Al Attia School and Hassan Bin Thabet School also participated in the campaign.
