Qatar Chamber (QC) has resolved 90-95 percent of the demands put forth by the members of the chamber last year, Chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim al Thani has said.
He was speaking at the annual general meeting (AGM) of Qatar Chamber, in Doha on Sunday. However, the AGM was postponed to April 4, for the lack of required quorum of members who are eligible to vote.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Khalifa praised the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al Thani, for his support to the chamber.
"We raised some issues related to logistic zones and industrial areas with the government and expect these issues to be resolved soon,"Sheikh Khalifa added.
The AGM requires the participation of at least 18,000 companies out of 36,000 companies registered with the chamber, to fulfill the legal quorum for holding an AGM.
The chamber has urged all the registered companies to participate in the AGM on April 4, at 11 am.
Sheikh Khalifa underlined that the second meeting would be held regardless of the number of attendees.
The agenda of the second meeting includes the chamber's fiscal report for the year ending December 31, 2016, and a new auditor for the 2017 financial year is to be approved.
