A total of 71,565,367 transactions were accomplished by different departments of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) in 2016, according to latest government figures.
On an average, 198,793 transactions were made every day. Of the total transactions, about 47,948,796 (67 percent) were made through electronic services while 23,616,571 (33 percent) done at service centres.
A total of 3,389,606 calls were made to emergency number 999 regarding traffic, injuries, illnesses, complaints, enquiries, fire reports and other personal services.
As many as 6,857,124 transactions relating to visa services were made last year, with residency-related ones reaching 3,245,873. A total of 46,947 Police Clearance Certificate were issued in 2016 along with 56,265 building permits.
