The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) and Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) will deliver the infrastructure required for the construction of residential units in Al Wukair North and Al Mashaf for its beneficiaries ” Qatar citizens ” during the next quarter of 2017.
Ashghal President Dr Eng Saad bin Ahmed al Muhannadi said,"Completion of infrastructure for citizens' land plots is one of our top priorities. We will provide services to the people of Qatar despite challenges. About 85 percent of infrastructure required for the construction of 1,829 residential units in Al Mashaf West and Al Wukair North have been completed."
Kahramaa President Essa bin Hilal al Kuwari said,"Kahramaa is all set to provide electricity and water services to citizens' land plots via a pre-connection system in coordination with Ashghal."
The project aims to convert Al Mashaf West into a sustainable residential area that can accommodate the future population growth. This package includes 1,186 land plots.
The project includes construction of a local road network of 70 kms, which includes 92 main and local streets. In addition to the construction of 13 intersections with electronic singals, there will be provisions for street lighting.
The project also includes construction of drainage networks, electricity, water, and communications networks.
The project in Al Wukair North, which serves 643 land plots, includes construction of 23 kms of roads and 8 signal-controlled intersections as well as provisions for street lighting.

Ashghal, in association with Kahramaa, will deliver basic infrastructure -- road network, water and electricity for 10,400 plots spread over 13 locations across the country.
An estimated QR2 billion will be spent each year for the project slated to be completed in 2021.
Other locations identified for the projects are west of Abu Hamour and Ain Khalid (255 land plots), south of Al Shehaniya (280 plots), west of Umm Slal (216 plots), Rawdat Egdaim and Izghawa (592 plots), north of Al Nassiriya (461 plots), Al Froosh - Al Kharaitiyat (619 plots), Al Kheesa (197 plots), west of Al Khor and Al Edga (679 plots), west and south of Smeisma (1122 plot), Al Wukair South (3508 plots) and Rawdat Al Jihaniya with 637 land plots.
A plot with an area of 900 to 1,200 square metres will be allocated at these locations.
Facilities for a total of 1,303 plots will be delivered in 2018. In 2019, 2020, and 2021, infrastructure facilities will be completed to serve 2511, 2487 and 2270 land plots respectively.
