The Association of Structural Engineers of the Philippines (ASEP) Regional Coordinating Committee Qatar, welcomed into its fold new members during the group's third technical summit held at the City Center Rotana Doha.
Themed 'Advancement in Infrastructure Engineering: Structures in Focus', the event was attended by Philippine Embassy Consul General Roussel Reyes and Philippine Labor Attache to Qatar David Des Dicang and ASEP officials.
Thirteen Filipino structural engineers became official members of the group after the oath-taking ceremony administered by ASEP President Frederick Francis M Sison and ASEP Past President and current Director Adam C Abinales.
The roster of new ASEP members include Alnovar S Abubakar, Helario S Amoguis, John Mark B Bunagan, Christine D Diosan, Richard S Dumdum, Al Eco, Franklyn P Genove, Ronaldo B Nilo, Joseph SP Reyes, Joseph Patrick F Rosal, Edmedio R Ebarle III, Janilee V Apolinares and Michael B Javier.
The event also featured several technical presentations delivered by structural engineers on various subjects.
Among the presentations were 'Sustainable Organisations: The 21st Century New Breed of Leadership' delivered by Juvenal Paulino Verano, 'Qatar National Library Construction' by Renato Torres, 'Precast & Pre-stressed Concrete Solutions' by Ronaldo Nilo and 'Construction of 1.121km long Bridge for Plaridel Bypass Road Project in the Philippines' by Adam Abinales.
Alden Cayaga presented 'Application of Building Information Modeling (BIM) in Infrastructures and Building Projects' while 'Design Considerations & Procedures for Marine Structures Focusing on Wharves and Its Structural Elements' was discussed by John Patrick Rosal.
Other presenters were John Paul Dela Rosa, Frederick Francis Sison, Alfonso Belito Betita, Oscar Paragas, Armando Tagtag and Al Eco.
