Law on breast-milk substitutes in final stage: MoPH official

Doha A draft law to regulate breast-milk substitutes has been finalised and will be handed over to the cabinet soon for approval, a top Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) official has said. MoPH Manager of Health Promotion and Non-communicable diseases Dr Sheikha Al Anoud bint Mohammed al Thani said they have already submitted the draft law to the minister for being forwarded to the cabinet for approval. Campaigns to spread awareness on the importance of breastfeeding will start in the coming months, she said. Once this law is approved, there will be no promotion of breast-milk substitutes. page 2
