Social media users have been heaping praises on the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) for effectively tackling of waterlogging problem in the country during a week of heavy rain.
Unlike the previous years, traffic jams owing to flooding were barely reported across the country.
People on Twitter and Facebook lauded the efforts made by the emergency teams of the MME who worked round the clock over the last few days to pump out water from areas which usually witness waterlogging.
This year, the rain emergency teams are working under the direct supervision of HE the Minister of Municipality and Environment to prevent rainwater accumulations. This has dramatically changed the situation and caught the attention of people who have been generous with praises.
In some areas, rainwater-draining teams were seen working for several days continuously during the period of heavy rain to prevent waterlogging, according to some Twitter users.
"Great effort, MME team. We're proud of you," one user tweeted.
According to the statistics provided by the MME, 542 employees, who have worked round the clock in shifts, have managed to drain 105,833,552 gallons of rainwater using 349 pumps and 542 tankers.
