THE Emir His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani on Thursday issued Law No (3) of 2017 amending some provisions of the Law No (9) of 1979 on documentation.
Under the provisions of the law, the director of Documentation Department at the Ministry of Justice shall carry out the documentation with the assistance of a sufficient number of notaries among the department's employees.
Taking into account the provisions stipulated in the conventions and treaties governing the work of members of the diplomatic and consular corps at Qatar's embassies abroad, it is permitted under a decision of the Minister of Justice to delegate some people from the non-department staff to carry out all or some of the notary's functions.
The decision shall determine the delegate's scope of territorial and qualitative jurisdiction, his reward and accountability. He shall be subject to the provisions of the law relating to the notary.
Everyone shall swear in before the Minister of Justice to carry out their duties with honesty and loyalty. The law shall be implemented and published in the Official Gazette.
HH the Emir also ratified the Cabinet Resolution No (3) of 2017 on University Certificates Equivalency System. The decision shall enter into force and be implemented the day following its date of publication in the Official Gazette.
Furthermore, HH the Emir issued an Instrument of ratification approving a draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation in the field of audit between the Court of Accounts of Qatar and the Turkish Court of Accounts, which was signed in Trabzon on December 18, last year.
