A specialised group at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education has been authorised to act as law enforcement officers who can carry out judicial actions on private tuition practices as per the Attorney General's decision.
This was announced by Director of Public Relations and Communications at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Hassan al Mohammadi.
He said the group must take necessary approvals in coordination with relevant departments at the ministry to report violations.
The team is required to identify the place and time of the violation and the possibility of making the seizure.
Besides, the action must be taken after coordination with the department concerned at the Ministry of Interior (MoI) and the General Prosecution along with issuance of the necessary approvals to complete judicial control procedures.
With regard to advertising private tuitions on social media sites, Mohammadi said only those educational centres that have a valid licence from the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and the Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC) can advertise their tuitions, according to a report in Al Sharq newspaper.
Any entity that publishes advertisements without official approval will be held accountable.
