A total of 8,244 abandoned vehicles were removed in 2016 by the Committee for Removal of Abandoned Vehicles at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME).
While 3,012 were removed in Doha Municipality, 4,473 in Al Rayyan Municipality, 375 in Al Wakra Municipality, 350 in Al Sheehaniya Municipality and 34 in Umm Salal Municipality.
The security departments at the Ministry of Interior removed 76 vehicles.
The Technical Control Section at Al Rayyan Municipality detected as many as 571 violations in building and excavation works last year. It settled 14 cases and served notices in 123 others.
In addition, 33 pledges were made and 103 seizure reports referred to the security agencies. Fines amounting to QR4,417,894 were also collected.
Similarly, the State Properties Unit issued 1,114 notices. The unit collected QR30,000 in fines.
