THE Minister of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs HE Dr Issa bin Saad al Jafali al Nuaimi opened the new government services centre in Mesaimeer recently to provide diverse services rendered by different ministries and government entities to the citizens and residents under one roof.
The new centre has separate compartments to provide services by the Foreign Ministry; the Ministry of Economy and Commerce; the Ministry of Justice; the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs; the Ministry of Education and Higher Education; and the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, in addition to Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation.
Nuaimi said the centre seeks to provide comfort to the citizens and residents of Qatar by upgrading services and facilitating procedures as part of the directive of the Prime Minister and Interior Minister HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al Thani. Representatives of the complex's service providers were present at the event.
The Minister also toured the different departments of the complex and took stock of the services provided there.
The building comprises nearly 30 counters, some of them dedicated to serving women, the elderly and people with disabilities, to execute different procedures in two shifts ” from 7.30am to 1pm and from 3pm to 7pm- to ease pressure on the rest of the branches and ministries.
Qatar is working to provide services in all its regions to help citizens and residents save time and reduce congestion.
There are eight government service complexes now, carrying out between 4,500 and 5,000 procedures daily. The centre in Messaimeer is second of its kind as the first government services complex was opened in November, 2015, in Al Rayyan.
