All riders will use one-make bikes

Excitement returns this weekend with the opening rounds of the Qatar Superstock 600 and Qatar Touring Car Championship being contested on Friday and Saturday at the Losail International Circuit. The racing
At a press conference, Abdulrahman al Mannai (QMMF President), Khalid al Remaihi (Losail Circuit Sports Club General Manager) , the QSTK 600 riders Saeed al Sulaiti, Mashel al Naimi and Nasser al Malki and drivers of the QTCC Mansour al Hajri and Abdulla al Khelaifi were present and expressed their upbeat mood before the start of the series.
The Qatar Superstock 600 will consists of 12 races over six rounds in which all riders are using one-make bike. The entry is free and the organisers will alsoprovide the professional assistance to keep the bikes ready in racing conditions.
QMMF President Mannai thanked all the participants in his address."I wish to thank everybody involved in these championships, all the media, the sponsors and my special thanks goes to the participants that will play a big role to deliver these championships."
"I'm grateful to all the media to send our message across Qatar and outside as well so that we can engage more riders and drivers. I want to thank Al Kass Channel for their positive response and their willingness to broadcast the championships," added the QMMF chief.
"We are very proud of these championships, designed by the Losail Circuit Sports Club and the Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation. With our full technical and financial support, we'll try to attract maximum possible participants and I'm sure that we can get the best possible numbers for this year's series," he added.
"We are very happy to start the championships this weekend and we are looking forward to seeing a lot of excitement, which you can already feel the way all the riders and drivers are getting ready for the opening round," said Mannai.
Khalid al Remaihi said,"I want to thank all the Qatari talented motorbike racers who did a fantastic job. In the official test that we did few weeks ago, it was so exciting that we cannot wait for the races. All the bikes are same, all the equipment are same and everybody is getting the same support. We're sure that this will raise the competitive levels. I wish to thank all the sponsors for their great support to the championship," he added.
On Friday, there will be free practices for QSTK and QTCC, starting from 10:00 and the activity will end at 16:25.
On Saturday, there will be two races for each championship, QSTK Race 1 at 11:30 and Race 2 at 14:10. For QTCC, the Race 1 is at 12:45 and Race 2 at 15:45. For all the fans and spectators, the Grandstand will be free and also the paddock will be open both days.
