Chief Executive Officer of Qatar International Court and Dispute Resolution Centre (QICDRC) Faisal al Sahouti has welcomed a judicial delegation from Bahrain to the centre's premises.
Sahouti briefed the delegation on the nature of the QICDRC, its jurisdiction and its procedures. This was followed by a discussion on common issues regarding judicial matters and, in particular, the operation of courts.
The delegation included Judge of Court of Cassation Abdulla Yacoub, Judge of High Civil Court of Appeal Abdulla al Ashraf, Judge of High Civil Court of Appeal Ali al Dahrani, Judge of High Civil Court of Appeal Mousa al Mousa and Director of Legal Excellence in the GCC Council Mohammed al Shareef as well as Judge of Court of Appeal Supreme Council of Justice, Qatar, Nasser al Khulaifi.
Sahouti emphasised the importance of exchanging expertise between both countries in order to assist in the development of the legal and judicial infrastructure which will ultimately lead to more effective delivery of access to the courts and justice.
Following the discussion, the delegation toured the QICDRC's facilities, visiting the courtroom and ADR centre.
The delegation listened to a brief explanation of some of the court's procedures, including the possibility of appeal against a judgment and how any appeal request shall be passed to a chamber of appeal to see if the request is legitimate or not.
