The rapid development in Qatar has led to growing demand for smart satellite services in the country, according to Ooredoo Chief Operating Officer Yousuf Abdulla al Kubaisi.
Ooredoo's Smart VSAT services, which are cost-effective solutions for delivering connectivity and ICT services to even the most remote locations, including desert areas and coastal waters, work by deploying a small satellite dish capable of both receiving and sending signals.
Talking about the services, Kubaisi said,"Qatar is growing faster than ever and with this expansion comes the need for connection. Whether we are talking about offshore construction, new stadiums or remote locations, connectivity is a vital part of daily life and business and our Smart VSAT services enable this."
Besides providing connectivity and Internet solutions, Ooredoo's Smart Satellite Services include Bandwidth Pooling, which is the most effective way to share bandwidth resources between multiple remote locations; Maritime Solutions, which ensures high-speed access to the Internet round the clock at sea; Over Horizon Advantage, which provides throughput availability on the move in real time; and 'communication on the pause' for vehicles that need ad-hoc remote broadband.
"VSAT solutions are fast becoming one of our most important services in Qatar and we are going to invest heavily to ensure the latest solutions and best network experience are available for companies looking to stay connected in previously unconnectable areas," Kubaisi added.
Ooredoo's Smart VSAT solutions provide businesses with a full suite of services based on tailored designs, reliable deployment and integrated satellite solutions to meet any technical objectives.
With immediate access to corporate resources from anywhere through VSAT, Ooredoo offers scalable solutions that can easily and cost-effectively accommodate multiple locations across business deployments.
To continue the development of the service, last year Ooredoo signed a MoU with leading Qatari company Es'hailSat, which will see the two companies work together on a range of new satellite and communication services for Qatar.
