Indian Ambassador to Qatar HE P Kumaran will inaugurate the annual dance festival organised by the Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) at Birla Public School in Doha on Thursday.
The event titled 'Natyanjali', to be presented in association with Sky Media, will feature Indian classical dance forms such as Bhartanatyam, Kuchipudi and Mohiniyattam performed by the ICC students. A total of 63 students trained by ICC dance trainer Metilda Solomon will showcase their finesse at the event.
Several well-known artistes from India, including Rajeev Kumar, Manoj Ananthapuri, Sangeeth Mohan, Thrissur Krishna Kumar, Sajeev Kumar and Kalamandalam Sheena Sunil, will also entertain the audience.
For the first time, a live orchestra from India will accompany the dancers during the programme.
ICC officials, Indian community leaders and representatives of socio-cultural organisations are expected to attend the event.
