QATAR Charity (QC) is preparing for the establishment of 1,000 solar-powered and furnished housing units (caravans) for people whose houses have been demolished in several areas of Syria.
The QC said that it had held a coordination meeting in Ankara to prepare for the shelter project within Syria, to be implemented in partnership with the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) in the coming weeks.
Eng Khalid Abdulla al Yafei, director of Operations Management at QC, said the joint venture with AFAD comes as part of the implementation of the memorandum of understanding signed by the two sides last month in Ankara.
Yafei stressed QC's keenness to cooperate with the Turkish partners, who have considerable experience in humanitarian work, within the framework of its tireless efforts to strengthen the partnership with international and regional humanitarian organisations to carry out charitable work.
