Sudanese President Omar al Bashir, Qatar's Minister of State for Defence Affairs HE Dr Khalid bin Mohammed al Attiyah and Turkey's Defence Minister Fikri Isik on Sunday inaugurated the new phase of Sur clothing factory, a partnership between Qatar, Sudan and Turkey.
Speaking at the ceremony, Bashir stated that the factory represents a successful model of administration and investment for the economy and a resettlement of new technology, including enhancement of capacities and transfer of expertise.
He added that the factory provides new initiatives to better the environment, social responsibility and maintain the welfare of the labours.
The president confirmed the determination to continue supporting Sur factory in its plan to achieve its goals to serve the international society, by opening up global markets to service army alliances.
Sudanese Minister of Industry said the factory is considered as a great leap in industrial development in the country while offering a successful model for the partnerships in the economic world.
The ceremony featured the opening of the new building of the Sur military and civilian clothing factory and the building of the Sur International Investment Company Ltd.
The factory aims to provide high-quality military, logistic and civilian products to the Middle East and Africa following global standards. New production lines are scheduled to open in May, when the Sur Company will support the Sudanese economy through exporting to Qatar, Turkey, Kenya, Somalia and other countries.
A number of ministers and senior officials in the field of textile industry in Sudan along with military and diplomatic officials from Qatar, Sudan and Turkey attended the ceremony.
