The Qur'anic Botanic Garden (QBG) has officially added the popular 'A Flower Each Spring' programme to its multiple educational initiatives such as 'Fun & Learn', 'The Young Botanist', 'The Plant Contest', and 'Ghars Campaign', which carry out numerous activities to support environmental education among the wider community.
"'A Flower Each Spring' promotes the Qur'anic Botanic Garden's objectives to advance botany, environmental education and cultural conservation by spreading awareness of plants, environment protection and biodiversity in Qatar. The programme, initiated and sponsored by Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, supports the efforts of Qatar Foundation to advance sustainable development," said Fatma Saleh al Khulaifi, project manager at QBG.
The Qur'anic Botanic Garden has invited members of the public to attend scientific field trips to the 'Flower Each Spring' camp at Ras Matbakh, Al Khor, which will run every Saturday until the end of April 2017.The programme has selected the 'Khobaiz' (Malvaparviflora) as the flower of 2017.
