THE Emir His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani issued Law no 19 of 2016 on a unified insurance protection system for military personnel who are citizens of the GCC and are working in any of the member states other than their home countries on Wednesday. The law is effective starting from its date of publication in the official gazette.
HH the Emir also issued Emiri decision no 60 of 2016 appointing Sheikh Mishaal bin Hamad bin Mohammed al Thani as Qatar's Ambassador to the United States of America. HH the Emir issued Emiri decision no 61 of 2016 appointing Mohammed Jaham Abdulaziz al Kuwari as the Ambassador of Qatar to Spain. The law is effective starting from its date of publication in the official gazette.
Furthermore, HH the Emir issued Decree No 54 of 2016 approving rules governing the logo of the Cooperation Council for the Arab Gulf States of the Gulf (GCC) adopted by the GCC Supreme Council during its 33rd session in Bahrain in December, 2012. The decree shall enter the force of law in accordance with Article 68 of the Constitution. The decree is effective starting from the day following its date of publication in the official gazette.
HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani also issued Decree No 55 of 2016 ratifying a cooperation agreement in the security field between the governments of Qatar and Oman signed in Doha on April 26 this year. The decree shall enter the force of law in accordance with Article 68 of the Constitution.
HH the Emir issued Decree No 56 of 2016 ratifying a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the sport field between the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Qatar and the General Authority of Youth and Sports Welfare of the United Arab Emirates signed in Doha on May 2, 2016. The decree shall enter the force of law in accordance with Article 68 of the Constitution.
Furthermore, HH the Emir issued Decree No 57 of 2016 ratifying an agreement on abolishing visa requirements for holders of diplomatic, service and special passports between the governments of Qatar and Indonesia signed in Doha on September 14, 2015. The decree shall enter the force of law in accordance with Article 68 of the Constitution. The decrees are effective starting from their date of publication in the official gazette.
HH the Emir then issued an instrument of ratification approving an agreement to encourage and protect investments made by and in Qatar and Serbia, signed between the two countries on November 7, 2016.
HH the Emir issued another instrument of ratification approving an agreement in the field of combating organised crime signed by Qatar and Algeria in Doha on October 31, 2016.
