The Cabinet on Wednesday approved a draft decision by the Minister of Economy and Commerce amending some provisions of Decision No. 239 of 2011 to regulate granting of temporary licences opening commercial establishments and shops in residential areas.
As per the amendment, licences can be renewed for shops located in residential areas. The shops can carry out any of the activities other than those stipulated in Article 1 of Decision No. 239 of 2011. Renewal of licences will be on a yearly basis with the maximum period ending on December 31, 2019.
The Cabinet also approved a proposal by the Ministry of Economy and Commerce to ratify the budget for participation in EXPO 2017 to be held in Astana, Kazakhstan, from September 6 to 9, 2017.
It also reviewed the Minister of Economy and Commerce's draft decision to identify certain areas in the country as tourist places.
The Cabinet also approved a draft decision amending some provisions of Decision No. 2 of 2012 on the organisation of the National Committee on Biosafety.
The Ministry of Municipality and Environment prepared the draft decision to integrate a number of ministries and delegating some departments, which required restructuring of the committee that specialises in a number of jurisdictions on biosafety policies.
The committee is to identify procedure that control biotechnology in order to create a safe policy for research on genetic recombination, approving the national framework of biosafety, and conducting a risk assessment of organisms and genetically modified products.
