Indian Women's Association (IWA), a non-profit organisation affiliated to the Indian Cultural Centre and under aegis of the Embassy of India, will be hosting their 20th Inter School Quiz competition IWA- Aster Kids Brain Quest '16 on December 9, at Birla Public School.
The contest was started in 1986, and the quiz has only grown since then. This year, the quiz will be hosted by the well-known Quiz Master Siddharatha Basu. A special show from Mentalist Aathi is also scheduled to be held during the event.
Indian Women's Association-Qatar President Jotshna Dey said,"We are happy to announce the 20th edition of our inter-school quiz competition in association with Aster DM Healthcare. The competition is open to students of Class 7 to 9. Alkhor International School, Bhavan's Public School, Birla Public School, Stafford Sri Lankan School, Ideal Indian School, DPS- Modern Indian School, Doha Modern Indian School, Shanthinikethan Indian School, Bright Future International School, MES Indian School, Philippine School Doha and Philippine International School will be competiting."
Entry passes of IWA-Aster Kids Brain Quest '16 are at QR50 (VIP) and QR20 (open seating) and are available at ICC and in participating schools. For reservations, email can be sent to [email protected].
Aster DMH Qatar Chief Executive Officer Sameer Moopan said,"It gives us immense pleasure to be a part of the much awaited inter-school quiz competition in Qatar. Aster Kids is an initiative by Aster DM Healthcare to promote the importance of preventive healthcare and reach out to children who are the leaders of tomorrow. Several activities and initiatives are planned and will be conducted over the next few months by Aster DM Healthcare under the Aster Kids Programme."
Basu is an Indian television producer-director and quiz show host, mostly known as producer-director of shows like 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' (2000- present), and 'Dus Ka Dum' (2008-2009). He started his career in entertainment in 1977 as a documentary film maker and directing TV programmes. His game-hosting began with the inter-collegiate quiz show 'Quiz Time' in the 1980s on Doordarshan. Basu has conducted a number of live multimedia quiz contests in corporate, college, and school circuits. He is now regarded as the father of television quiz shows in India.
