The weekend rain swelled underground water reservoirs at the Muaither-situated Qatar Animal Welfare Society (QAWS), leading to conduits bursting on Saturday afternoon, flooding the entire shelter and the adjoining car park. A QAWS official said that they had managed to rescue animals and 99 percent of animals were safe, but all supplies have been lost in the incident. Workers even lost their personal belongings. Their immediate requirements are clothes for workers (men), bowls, dog food, puppy food, cat food, farm food and blankets.
