HEC Paris in Qatar, one of the world's top three providers of Executive Education programmes, has announced the appointment of a new Dean and Chief Executive Officer Dr Nils Plambeck, who begins his duties with immediate effect.
Working with HEC Paris since 2004, Dr Plambeck holds a Doctorate in Economic and Social Sciences from the University of Hamburg and a Diploma in Business Administration (Diplom Kaufmann) with a focus on Strategy and Sociology.
As an associate professor in the Strategy and Business Policy Department of HEC Paris, Dr Plambeck was the academic director for the MSc in Strategic Management in the last year. Prior to this, he was responsible for the core strategy course at the HEC Grande Ecole and shared responsibility for the strategic implementation courses of the Executive MBA.
Dr Plambeck has taught in a variety of programmes such as Masters, MBA, Executive MBA, TRIUM Global MBA and custom programmes.
His primary research interests concern managers' role for strategic behaviour of firms. He seeks to answer questions such as how CEOs and top management teams influence their companies' strategic actions. How does CEOs' thinking shape strategic actions? What are the organisational and environmental determinants of top managers' cognitive processes?
Dr Plambeck said,"I am honoured and excited to be the Dean and CEO of HEC Paris in Qatar. During the last years, my predecessors, Antoine Hyafil and Laoucine Kerbache and our team at HEC Paris in Qatar have led our organisation to great successes. Our partnership with Qatar Foundation goes from strength to strength and we are proud of our contribution towards the Qatar National Vision 2030.
"In my new position, I will build on the successful work and will also direct HEC Paris in Qatar to let our organisation help educating people who are and will contribute to the region's economic and social development. These people can be from any segment such as small and medium enterprises, large corporations, ministries or non-profit organisations.
