The registration of minor accidents via the Ministry of Interior's Metrash 2 application has become a huge hit among motorists. As many as 1,000 minor road accidents have been registered through the Metrash 2 app since the launch of the service on August 1 this year.
The MoI had launched the e-service as part of its efforts to simplify the procedures for motorists and save their time and effort.
Motorists involved in minor accidents are required to take four photographs of each of the vehicles involved in the accident with at least one of them clearly showing the vehicle's number plate after enabling the"location services" on their mobile phones.
The reporting party can then launch the"accident registration"service on Metrash 2 application and enter the two parties' information such as vehicle number plates, Qatar ID numbers and mobile phone numbers, and send them along with the photographs of the vehicles involved in the accident.
After reporting the incident, the two parties are required to move their vehicles to the nearest parking area so that is obstructed the traffic flow.
