With a number of new hospitals scheduled to be opened in the country soon, Avanzcare, the medical arm of Al Sawari Holding sees huge potential for medical equipment and devices in the coming years, Chairman of Al Sawari Holding Sheikh Turki bin Faisal Bin Qassim al Thani has said.
"The new hospitals and the existing hospitals in the country will be requiring quality medical equipments and this market is set to grow. As a company in the medical sector, we aim to distribute successful products and services to fulfil market demand and cover unmet medical needs," Sheikh Turki said after signing an agreement with Mindray, a leading global provider of medical devices.
A recent report by Hamad Medical Corp (HMC) said that by the end of December 2017, there will be more than 1,100 newly-built hospital beds for residents in new facilities across Qatar.
Among the projects are three new facilities at Hamad Bin Khalifa Medical City, a $659 million (QR2.4 billion) medical complex on a 227,000 square metres site in Rumaila in central Doha: a women's wellness and research centre; an ambulatory care centre; and the Qatar Rehabilitation Institute.
Talking about the agreement with Mindray, Sheikh Turki said will help the company offer comprehensive life support solutions from the internationally-recognised provider of top-quality medical devices throughout Qatar.
Under the two-year agreement, Avanzcare will be the sole distributor of Mindray's ultrasound and life support products in Qatar. In Qatar, Mindray will offer anesthesia, deliberator, infusion pump, syringe pump, monitor, ventilator and ECG under the umbrella of life support products.
Commenting on the agreement, Mohamed Shafeik, Managing Director of Al Sawari Holding said,"Our agreement with Mindray is part of our endeavour to partner with leading businesses in order to enhance our services and address the healthcare needs of people in the most efficient way possible. We believe that this cooperation will guarantee the welfare of the community at large and will enable Qatar get the best and most relevant healthcare products."
For his part, Jason Wang, Vice-President of Mindray international said Qatar's healthcare market has experienced explosive growth over the past decade."Our partnership with Avanzcare is to offer solutions for hospitals and clinics across Qatar, bettering the standard of service in healthcare in the country, coupled with strengthening our presence further globally."
