QATAR Charity (QC) launched its 'feed the pilgrims' campaign for the year, to help thousands of people of many countries.
The campaign worth QR500,000 is aimed at achieving social integration between Muslims during the Hajj season. It is for pilgrims of all races, gender and age groups. Through this campaign, QC seeks to provide 33,000 meals to feed the pilgrims with each meal costing QR15.
Faisal Rashid al Faheeda, executive director of the executive management of operations at QC, said:"Qatar Charity is happy to continue its feeding pilgrims' project for the fourth consecutive year. Through this project, QC provides an opportunity to all benevolent people and well-doers to serve the pilgrims. Through the 'feed the pilgrims' project, meals that meet health and nutrition standards can be guaranteed to be handed out to the visitors during the current Hajj season."
Faheeda added that the cost of each meal is QR15 and a person can donate to feed as many pilgrims he wishes, noting that QC has assigned QR500,000 for the project.
Urging all well-doers to invest during these sacred days, Faheeda called upon the people of Qatar to participate in the privilege of helping the pilgrims.
Donations for the project can be made through the QC website: 'qcharity.org', or through the charity's collection points and branches within the State, or through the hotline number: '44667711'.
It is worth mentioning that QC was able to distribute 17,825 meals to pilgrims at a cost of QR445,622 last year. This came as part of the 'feed the pilgrims' and the 'substitutionary Hajj' projects.
