MANILA CITING the importance of educating youth voters on the electoral exercise, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) expressed support on a bill seeking to include voters' education in the High School curriculum. With this, the poll body is ready to work with the Department of Education (DepEd) and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) to formulate the Voters' Education curriculum, based on a proposal in Congress."It is important that first-time voters are sufficiently knowledgeable about the electoral process," Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez said in a statement. The proposed curriculum will include Values Formation, Importance of the Right to Suffrage and the Sanctity of the Ballot, and Factors in Evaluating and Choosing Candidates. (AGECIES)
