Kabul Protests over the alleged adultery of two police officers in Afghanistan’s south-eastern Ghazni province turned violent, officials said on Monday.
Two protesters were killed and at least four others were injured when the police officers guarding the district building of the Jaghori district in the province opened fire on them, local councillors Amanullah Kamran and Esmatullah Jamrudwal said.
The protesters - who gathered in front of the district building - were demanding that the district chief hand over to them the district’s police chief along with the head of police intelligence to punish them for adultery, the councillors said. (DPA)
