It will take at least four weeks to return to some kind of normalcy if the measures to contain the spread of coronavirus yield positive results, a top health official said on Sunday.
“Four weeks is the least period we need from now … to allowing back schools and businesses to run normally,” Dr Abdullatif al Khal, Co-chair of the National Epidemic Preparation Committee, told Doha 360 website.
However, he stressed the need to wait and see the results of the measures being taken now and their impact on the level of virus retreat.
“If we find positive results in terms of controlling the virus during the next four weeks, the measures taken will be reviewed,” he added.
Based on the experiences of other countries, he said, these measures will not be cancelled in one go, but will be phased out if we can control the virus within the next four weeks.
