The ‘Impregnable Guard 2020’ military exercise started on Sunday and will run through March 27.
Chief of Staff of Qatari Armed Forces HE Lieutenant General (Pilot) Ghanem bin Shaheen al Ghanem and a line-up of senior officers from the Qatari Armed Forces, security agencies and a number of friendly countries attended the opening of the drill.
The Joint Special Forces, Military Police, Amiri Air Force, Amiri Guard, the Ministry of Interior and the Internal Security Force (Lekhwia) are participating in the exercise, in addition to forces from friendly countries, such as Jordan, Turkey, Morocco, Pakistan, Oman, the US and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
The drill consists of scenarios and training to prepare the participating forces to respond to any cross-border security threats. (QNA)
