THE Cabinet, at its weekly meeting chaired by Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al Thani on Wednesday, approved the draft decision of the Minister of Finance to establish a Customs department in the general warehouse (Milaha Logistics City).
The Cabinet also approved a draft air services agreement between Qatar and East Timor; draft agreement between Qatar and Cote d’Ivoire on avoiding double taxation and preventing financial evasion in relation to income taxes; and a draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of climate change and environmental protection between the Ministry of Municipality and Environment of Qatar and the Ministry of Environment, Water and Forests of Romania.
Furthermore, the Cabinet approved a draft MoU for cooperation in the field of corruption prevention between the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority of Qatar and the French Anti-Corruption Agency.
The Minister of Justice and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs HE Dr Issa bin Saad al Jafali al Nuaimi announced the decisions of the meeting.
Meanwhile, the Cabinet reviewed a draft law amending some provisions of Law No. 32 of 1995 regarding the prohibition of damage to plant environment and its components.
The Cabinet also discussed the main logistical and industrial projects for the Economic Zones Company (Manateq) and instructed relevant authorities to develop the necessary plans to provide the needs based on a study of supply and demand for lands.
