The Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani has said that the talks with Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune were very constructive and the two countries agreed on many matters.
In a joint press remarks with the Algerian president at El Mouradia presidential palace in Algiers on Tuesday, the Amir said the relations between Qatar and Algeria in the economic and investment fields will be developed further.
The Amir praised Algeria’s regional and Arab role and its honourable history in resolving many of conflicts, whether in the region or in the Arab world.
The Amir stressed the need for its role in this regard and expressed his confidence in the success of the upcoming Arab summit to be hosted by Algeria.
At the beginning of the press statements, the Amir thanked the Algerian president for the good reception and hospitality.
For his part, the Algerian president welcomed the Amir and his accompanying delegation, saying that his talks with the Amir affirmed the full agreement of the two countries on various issues, including economic, political, Arab, regional and international issues. The Algerian president thanked the Amir and the accompanying delegation for the visit.
Earlier, the Amir and the Algerian president held official talks at El Mouradia presidential palace.
The talks dealt with bilateral relations and the means of strengthening them in various fields, especially in energy, economy, investment, culture and sports.
The two sides also discussed a number of regional and international issues of common concern, including the Palestinian cause and the Libyan crisis.
Upon departure from Algiers, the Amir sent a cable to the Algerian president expressing deep thanks and appreciation for the warm hospitality and honour that the Amir and the accompanying delegation received during the visit which provided an opportunity for exchange of views on issues of common concern and means of strengthening and promoting the bilateral relations.
