Minister of Commerce and Industry HE Ali bin Ahmed al Kuwari met with the Prime Minister of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Khalid al Hamad al Sabah on the sidelines of the ‘Made in Qatar’ expo in Kuwait on Thursday.
During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries in the commercial, investment and industrial fields and ways to enhance and develop them in light of the distinguished fraternal ties between the two countries.
During the meeting, Kuwari affirmed the strong cooperation and strategic partnership between the two countries and the shared eagerness to take them to broader horizons to meet the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples.
Kuwari also met with Kuwaiti Minister of Commerce and Industry Khaled Nasser al Roudhan.
The meeting discussed mechanisms to unify efforts to support non-oil industries in light of the two countries’ orientation towards achieving economic diversification and stimulating mutual investments in industrial sectors with added value and expansion towards major global markets.
The meeting also discussed coordination frameworks to enhance competition and consumer protection and ways to take advantage of the available capabilities to facilitate investment procedures for the Qatari and Kuwaiti business sectors.
The two sides highlighted the economic developments in both countries in recent years, and discussed international changes and economic developments in the countries of the region.
The meeting also discussed developments in the Qatari economy in the past years as well as reviewed investment opportunities available in all sectors, investment incentives and legislation approved by the State of Qatar, including the law regulating investment of non-Qatari capital in economic activity, and the initiatives that were launched in order to support the private sector and increase foreign direct investment.
